Serger Classes: The Pretty Patchwork Skirt
It can be upcycled! It can be simple! It can be complex! It can be long! It can be short! It can be anything that you want it to be!
The Pretty Patchwork Skirt is an easy, beginner friendly pattern that gives YOU the control, and we want to see all of the creativity that you bring to this pattern, using just your serger, fabric, and some thread. 
Do you own a serger, but have never been truly certain about what a serger can help you create? Then we strongly encourage you to attend this class! Students will be able to come in, learn about fitting and the pattern, select their fabrics (either purchased in the store, or from knit fabric scraps that you bring from home!), and get to sew up their skirts all in one day! This event is a wonderful way to learn all about the versatility of sergers, upcycle your fabric scraps, and create something uniquely you.
This event runs all day. Participants are expected to bring a packed lunch. Patterns will be provided by the University of Sewing, but all students must bring their own sergers, fabrics, supplies, enough thread for a 4-thread overlock stitch, and a basic sewing kit. Prior serger experience is not required! Please, do not bring old t-shirts or sweaters. This project works best with 2-4 fabrics of similar weight, drape, and stretch. Everyone who attends will receive special class pricing on serger/overlockers, fabric, and sewing notions!

| Skill Details: | Participants should have a basic understanding of sewing techniques, such as threading a needle and sewing machine, cutting fabric, and using pins. Knowing how to thread a 4-thread overlocking stitch on your serger is required. |
