Quilting: Soft Nights Mystery SNOW-Along
Can you just feel the chill in the air? Can you smell the cocoa and mulled wine? Are you ready for the soft glow of twinkle lights by the fireplace? That's the feeling you'll have during the Soft Nights Mystery SNOW-Along with Rachel! Every week during the month of November, we will meet, open a gift of fabrics specially selected just for you, and then get to work on surprise quilt blocks that we will turn into a gorgeous winter-themed quilt together. 
Each quilt block will finish to 21.5" x 21.5", and you will have 4 finished by the end of the month! We will also have an optional day to discuss possible sashing to make your quilt top bigger (date TBD).
Participants will need to bring a sewing machine with straight stitch capabilities, cutting tools for fabric, a neutral thread to be used for piecing, a basic sewing kit, and template plastic that we are going to use to cut our pieces. Quilting rulers for strip cutting will be useful too!
The Mystery Snow-Along comes with 5 total yards of fabric, as well as the four block patterns, and sashing/finishing pattern. When you sign up for the class, please select a colorway that you would prefer, so we can customize your fabric just for you!

| Skill Details: | Participants need to know how to operate their sewing machine, including winding a bobbin, and changing a needle. Accurate cutting is necessary, so make sure you also bring and know how to use a rotary cutter with quilting rulers. |

| Requirements: | Know how to piece quilt blocks and follow patterns (I'll be there to answer any questions, though, so don't worry too much!). You will also need a sheet of template plastic. | Instructor Bio: | Rachel has been sewing since the age of seven. She began by stitching skirts and Halloween costumes with her mother, and quickly branched out into fiber arts of all kinds: cross stitching, weaving, beadwork, and bag construction. It wasn't until the Pandemic that Rachel discovered quilting, and quickly fell in love with the medium! She has now designed over 100 quilts, and has gained some national recognition after she won second place at the National Quilt Museum's New Quilts from an Old Favorite contest in 2022. Her style is modern and geometric, and shows off a true love of color! |
