Half Square Triangles Table Runner
This table runner is called Twisted Pole. The twist is all Half-Square triangles (HST). During class, we will learn to create these triangles with the conventional method of sewing HST. Then arrange them to make this beautiful table runner.
Before Class:
Purchase your fabric and cut your strips. (Download and Print the Supply List)
Supplies Needed for Class:
Rotary mat, ruler, and rotary cutter or
A rotary kit can be purchased at the University of Sewing
A basic sewing machine, (that is in working order) 1/4 inch foot is a must,
(Walking foot will also be helpful when quilting and putting on binding) not necessary for the actual class day
basic sewing kit, neutral thread, pins, seam ripper, scissors
Materials Needed for the Project:
Need 3 fabrics to complete table runner with borders and binding.
Color 1: 3/4 yard of a medium to small print
Color 2: 1/2 yard dark contrast fabric
Color 3: 1/8 yard of a tone on tone
They all should coordinate with each other.
Thread color that coordinates for binding and quilting.
Preparation BEFORE Class is a MUST. We want to get started with the technique promptly at the start of class.
