Sewing Machine Demystified

Demystify the sewing machine with our two and a half-hour introductory sewing class.  Learn how to thread your sewing and wind a bobbin.  Additionally, in this class we will learn both best practices for operating a sewing machine as well as how to form simple seams which translate into a mini sewing sample book which you will take home from the class. You won't need to bring anything as a sewing machine and materials are provided.

Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: This is your first introduction to using a sewing machine.
Materials Included: All Materials are included in the price.
Requirements: You won't need to bring anything, except reading glasses if you need those. The University of Sewing will supply a sewing machine and all the materials you will need.
Instructor: Danielle Priest
Instructor Bio: Danielle is our expert in Cosplay and costuming. She has been sewing 14 years and creating costumes since she was a kid. She loves attention to detail and uses her patience to figure out how to recreate looks and find the right materials or techniques, including everything from machine embroidery to millinery. With a background in education and as mother of young kids, she enjoys teaching - especially beginners!
